
My Bonnie lies over the ocean, my Bonnie lies over the sea. My Bonnie lies overThose words are indelibly carved into my memory in the sweet, soft tone of my grandmother’s voice. When I think of them, I am taken back to a simple time of my youth, nuzzled in granny’s arms, and I can smell the scent of Dove soap that permeated her apartment. Why is it that we spend a lifetime searching, while failing to appreciate what we already have? We yearn for what we don’t have instead of learning to want what we do have. Tangible things are fleeting - it’s the intangible things that are indelible.
